What is the answer to life, the universe and everything?

 That is a question that no one can answer as its not a true question but a question of who, what, where, when and why is life, the universe and everything.

I am not here to answer any of those questions though!

How do we answer any of these questions? We start with other questions in science such as, how can you calculate a prime number, what genome sequence will ultimately decide someone's cancer chances or what is the exact orbit of every known asteroid that potentially could intersect or create an intersection with our planet.

These are the questions we can answer with calculations. It is possible for ANYONE with a computing device to help answer them.

Step 1.

Get the BOINC client. The BOINC client is a job running application which manages chunks of scientific or mathematic calculations and then compiled for research in the many different scientific and mathematic fields of study.

Step 2.

Choose your projects. There are hundreds of projects to help or alternatively, sign up to a team such as Science United. They choose the projects automatically based on your computing device and send it computing data.

Step 3.

Science. You are now an active contributor from the moment your device sends back its first chunk of data. You never know, you could discover the largest prime number, the furthest away magnetar star or even discover an alien signal from space!
